DrumOrama Drum Study

Foundation+ Path

Structured drum study for a clear, supported starting point

Foundation+ is DrumOrama's starting route for adults who are new to drums, returning after a period without consistent practice, or who have had lessons before but without any real structure behind them.

The path is built around one principle: the beginning of study is too important to leave unguided. Early work is supported through clear weekly direction, regular review, and one connected structure — so that the foundation forms properly before anything more demanding is introduced.

€80 / month. Study begins through placement.

Rhythmic foundations

Coordination foundations

Technical control

Study and practice structure

Each area is handled within one connected structure so that early work remains clear, manageable, and supported across time.

What defines this path

The Foundation+ Path is defined by how the beginning of study is handled, not by isolated lesson content.
Its purpose is to provide a stable entry into drum study, where work can be followed, reviewed, and kept manageable across time.

Clear starting-point placement

The starting point is identified before study begins, so that the work can start at a level appropriate to the student’s current playing.

One connected study structure

Early work is introduced step by step, so that consistency can form before greater complexity is added.

Guided early study

Early work is introduced step by step, so that consistency can form before greater complexity is added.

Review aligned with early-stage study

Work is reviewed in relation to the student’s current stage, so that study remains appropriate and manageable.

Who this path is for

The Foundation+ Path is intended for students who want their drum study to begin within a clear and structured environment.

It may be suitable for students who:

  • are new to drum study and want a defined starting point

  • are returning after a period without consistent practice

  • need a more stable and organised approach than occasional lessons

  • are ready to work with clear weekly direction

  • want early study to remain supported within one connected structure

This path is for students who want their work to be guided from the beginning, rather than left to develop without direction.

How preparation works

01

Placement

Before study begins, the most appropriate starting point is identified in relation to the student’s current playing.

02

Starting point

If accepted, the student begins at a level that reflects their current position and supports stable early study.

03

Weekly preparation

Work includes foundational coordination, rhythm, technical control, and structured practice.

04

Guided study

Material is introduced gradually, with attention to control, understanding, and consistency.

05

Review

Review is used to keep study aligned with the student’s current stage and working capacity.

Takes around 5 minutes. A recommended path is returned immediately on submission. No obligation at the point of form completion.

This path is designed for students who are prepared to work within a consistent study structure from the beginning.

This includes:

  • regular attendance

  • practice between lessons

  • willingness to follow direction

  • sustained focus across time

This is a structured starting route, not a casual lesson format.

What this path requires from the student

What a typical week looks like in Foundation+

Each week has a clear working focus, usually one or two areas: pulse and counting, basic coordination, or technical control at the current level.

Before the next lesson, there is short structured practice focus. After the lesson, a brief written note records what was covered, what needs attention, and what the week’s practice direction is.

Nothing is assumed. Nothing is left to drift.
